JEDA Advisory Board

The highly qualified JEDA Advisory Board (JAB) is constituted of professionals who deeply care for and strongly supports our vision, mission and values. Collectively, we have over 150 years’ experience in education, training, leadership and development. Through our disciplines of Science, Humanities, Law, Education as well as Business, we engage across Africa, Australia and America to make the world better.

Prof. Quinton Johnson has spent over 30 years as a professional in higher university education. He received his qualifications from the universities of Cape Town (B.Sc.; HDE), Western Cape (B.Sc. Hons, MSc; PhD) and Harvard (TGMP) specializing in science, medicine and business. He is an accomplished academic who is internationally published. His experience includes senior posts as Visiting Scholar (America), Professor, HOD, Managing Director and Principal of the Nelson Mandela University Campus in the Southern Cape. He is a founding Trustee, Chairman and President of the JEDA Foundation.

Dr. Bridget Johnson has spent over 27 years as a professional in higher education. She received her qualifications from the universities of Cape Town (B.A.; HDE) and Western Cape (B.Ed Psych. M.Psch and PhD). She is an outstanding academic and registered Senior Psychologist. Her experience includes posts as High School Teacher, Researcher, Senior Lecturer and Health Professionals Council of South Africa registered Senior Psychologist at Western Cape, Stellenbosch and Nelson Mandela universities respectively. She is a founding Trustee and Director of the JEDA Foundation.

Prof. Chris Knaus is a Professor at the University of Washington, where he received his PhD specializing in Education Leadership and Policy Studies. He has taught at California State University, University California, Berkeley and schools in Oakland and Seattle. He has spent more that 20 years in higher education and has published extensively in the international literature. As a Fulbright Scholar, he has collaborated with researchers in South Africa, with a focus on education leadership and the effects of racism in schools and communities.

Dr. Ingrid Willenberg is a Senior Lecturer at the Australian Catholic University. She was a Fullbright Scholar and Spencer Fellow at Harvard University. She graduated with a PhD in the field of human development and psychology, with a concentration in language and literacy. She has taught at the University of the Western Cape and Maquarie University. Over more than two decades her teaching, publishing and supervision has been underpinned by a strong academic background in developmental psychology, linguistics, language and literacy as well as speech-language pathology.

VP Bongani Sayidini is Vice-President of PetroSA. He has graduated with an Engineering M.Sc (University of London), LLM with distinction (University Dundee), MBA (UCT) and is finishing his PhD (UCT). Over the last 20 years he has worked in the energy industry and rose through the ranks of the sector from Petroleum Engineer to Principal Reservoir Engineer. He subsequently worked as a Strategist in Corporate Strategy and Planning as well as Head of Business Intelligence. He was then appointed as Vice-President for exploration and production. During an interim period, he has also steered PetroSA as Acting Group CEO, overseeing the entire company with its several thousand employees for better success.

Dr. Adv. Lyndon Bouah is Chief Director in the Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport (DCAS) of the Western Cape Government, and an Advocate in the High Court of South Africa. He graduated with a PhD from the University of the Western Cape and has spent over 20 years in Law, Sports and Administration. He specializes in the promotion as well as implementation of sport and recreation in South Africa. He has spent his professional career as a public servant, working as a Legal Specialist in the Department of Justice and Senior Administrator in the DCAS. Over many years he has represented and captained South Africa internationally as a chess master and has been instrumental in ensuring that federations and schools have been supported in strengthening all sporting codes in the pursuit of developing an active and winning nation.
